Hi! I'm Ms. Wittkofske. I get the incredible honor of being your 2nd grade teacher. I'm so curious to get to know you. I bet you are a bit curious too, so I will tell you a little about me. This is my 1st year teaching. I started the year as a third grade teacher, but transitioned to 2nd grade to provide some consistency. I was offered the opportunity to be a part of the incredible second grade team after the class experienced several teachers left the class. I graduated from the University of Toledo with a B.A. in Early Childhood Education with a concentration in science. I am a member of Kappa Delta Pi, an honors society for educators, and Delta Phi Epsilon, a sorority which allowed me to grow closer to the Toledo area through volunteerism. Outside of these organizations I have been volunteering at Sunshine Communities for the past 5 years. My volunteering has taught me so much about creating inclusive spaces. Before becoming a teacher and going to UT, I grew up as a military child. I had the amazing opportunity to travel the world with my family. I was born in Japan, and lived in Germany and the U.S. While in Germany, I learned German. All of my childhood adventures have instilled an appreciation for different perspectives and diversity. We all have so much to learn from each other. In my free time I enjoy hiking, painting, and reading. Over the summer I went hiking in Harrison State Park in New York. I paint, but mostly when I do crafts. The last good book I read was My Grandmother Asked Me to Tell You She's Sorry by Swedish author Fredrik Backman.
